Beatles - Hey Jude

Hey Jude is a song by the Beatles single released in August 26, 1968 in the United States and four days later in the United Kingdom, with John Lennon Revolution opposite B. This is the first Beatles album released under their own label, Apple Records. Composed by only Paul McCartney - but credited to Lennon / McCartney, like all the band's songs composed by one and / or the other - Hey Jude was intended to support Julian Lennon, son of John, on divorce of his parents.

Musically, Hey Jude stands after four verses, by a long coda of almost four minutes ("na, na, na, nananana, nananana, hey Jude"), which gives the title longer than seven minutes; This unusual length also forced the EMI studio technicians to compress certain parts of the song, to be able to take on a whole 45 laps.

At the time of its release, Hey Jude is the longest song to reach top spot in the British charts, where she settled for two weeks, and sixteen in all passes in the rankings. She is also nine weeks on the U.S. charts, the longest duration for a single group in that territory. Hey Jude is the largest and worldwide success of the Beatles in 45 laps, number one in eleven different countries, including Australia, Canada, Austria, Switzerland, Norway and France.
