Paul McCartney decides to comfort Cynthia and Julian, the son she had with John in 1963. He went to their home in Kenwood in Weybridge (Surrey), and it is on the road he began to develop the song.

In 1996, Julian Lennon has acquired at auction session notes recording the song [No 2], which he considers a "family heritage", for a sum of 25,000 pounds. In 2002, the manuscript of the song that is being auctioned at Christie's in London, estimated at U.S. $ 116 000. However, McCartney has blocked the bid, claiming that the film had disappeared from his home. His lawyer argued that it was stolen during a burglary of many of the musician's house, or one of its employees. The manuscript was sent to Christie's by a fan group, who said that he had found in a flea market in 1971.
