New Star is dead, long live X Factor "is what should be called M6, which launched the first episode of the TV-hook tonight from 20 pm 45. But the only similarity between the two programs is that it is to sing before a jury, persuade and get a contract artist with a prestigious label, namely Sony.

Only New Star

If New Star focused young singers, X Factor is a population ranging from students to retirees. In addition, hearings are not held in camera and a capella as was the case for the former flagship show of M6, but on a real stage with orchestra and audience support. A jury assesses the performance of candidates and approves them or not to continue the adventure.

For this first edition of X Factor, the chain has invested in a professional jury composed of Christophe Willem Véronic DiCaire (Canadian singer impersonator), Henry Padovani (guitarist and founding member of The Police) and Olivier Schultheis (former conductor New Star).

A jury more involved

The jury has traveled the four corners of France and Belgium to go in search of their gem. In total, nearly 25,000 candidates who tried their luck and after the hearings are 400 people who were accepted and were offered the chance to go again before the jury. The latter, moreover, is not confined to the role of judge as once happened to step in premiums, they will also be responsible for coaching candidates who will be separated into different categories (women under 25 years, males under 25 years, over 25 years and groups).

The English adaptation of the show has already proven around the world as it exists today in 14 countries. M6 counting on the excitement generated by the phenomenon to attract many spectators.
